So, we’ve decided to make a list about the best electric callus remover in order to help anyone in search of a fast and effective way to eliminate calluses from their feet.

Take a look further and find out about the best callus remover tool on the market plus a little guide about calluses, how to remove them and the benefits of using a callus remover.

What is a Callus?

Callus are those things that look like dead skin which can appear on hands, feet, elbows, or pretty much anywhere the skin gets too much friction on. This kind of annoyance appears with the purpose of protecting the skin from repetitive burns and harm. Even though they can hurt sometimes, they are mainly inoffensive, but they look ugly and can even be uncomfortable when they appear on feet or hands.

They usually appear on body skin that’s in constant friction with anything, like in hands of bodybuilders who are in constant weighing and exposing hands to repetitive friction or with farmers who are constantly using a shovel or paddle. And when they happen in the feet is mostly because of shoes that are too tight or in feet of people who tend to play a lot of sports.

What Causes Calluses?

Due to repetitive friction and pressure on the skin, this organ of our body starts developing a harder protuberance with the skin that dies due to the constant harm. Callus tend to happen in feet and hands, but they can actually appear in almost anywhere in the body, especially if that part of the body is not protected against friction.

Calluses are mainly formed by the skin in order to protect it from further harm. They often appear in feet due to an improper walking motion making the feet rub against shoes too often and eventually form those protuberances. Other main causes are shoes that are too tight or feet with malformations. However, if there is not a protective sock or material in between the harm is bigger.

As said before, repetitive handling of different tools in hands are also a very common cause of calluses. Gardeners, tennis and baseball players, violinists and guitarists or even painters and writers can develop calluses due to the constant use and friction on their hands.

But when they happen on feet, they are mainly because of wrong movements and even walking bare feet. For these calluses, the best product to remove callus from feet are callus removers, which help in eliminating those protuberances once and for all, leaving the skin all soft and without any dead skin.

Callous removers will always be the best option for anyone who wants to eliminate those calluses from their feet and even hands. Best Shoes for Pregnancy: What Shoes to Purchase for those Swollen Feet

There is a long list of things that happen to a woman's body during pregnancy. Swollen feet is usually at the top of that list, especially in the third trimester. Let's go over what to look for in shoes while dealing with swollen feet.

When you are pregnant your body will go through many changes.

Your belly will grow into a beautiful baby bump as your child develops.

You’ll find yourself craving weird and unusual foods you typically don’t eat, your mood swings will be all over the place and more than likely your feet will become so swollen you can’t comfortably fit into any of your normal shoes, so you’ll need the best shoes for your pregnancy.

Being pregnant can put a lot of stress onto a woman; picking out nursery decorations, choosing a baby name, and figuring out how to pay for all those diapers you will soon be going through.

Some days you will find yourself nesting and being on your feet, especially at the end of your term, during these days you need a pair of practical, easy to slip on, and comfortable shoes for pregnant women.

There are many different types of shoes available for pregnant women to help with swollen feet. Some are more comfortable than others, some are for work while some are for exercise, and some are just versatile shoes.

Below is a quick comparison of the best shoes to wear while pregnant with swollen feet.

Can I Wear High Heels While Pregnant?

High heels are a fashion staple that many women can’t live without, whether they wear them to work or any given day to boost their confidence.

Heels can put the finishing touches onto any outfit. But is it safe or practical to wear high heels while pregnant?

The answer can be a little confusing, while doctors will want to debate that the answer is no, you should not wear high heels while pregnant, there is also no rules stating that you cannot wear them.

Many women wear high heels during their 9-month term without any problems at all, but it is the what-ifs that call for concern to doctors and pregnant women alike.

High heels can cause discomfort for any woman whether they are pregnant or not, mostly because your feet are tilted to an unnatural position.

In addition to every day pain with high heels more issues can arise while wearing high heels when pregnant.

When you are pregnant your center of gravity shifts to compensate for the baby that is growing inside of you.

As the center of gravity moves pregnant woman have to lean back more and change their gait to remain stable.

When a woman’s balance is off while pregnant she is more likely to trip or fall, even while wearing shoes other than heels.

Wearing high heels while pregnant can cause a lot of issues such as:

  • Falling or Tripping
  • Calf Cramps
  • Back Pain
  • Blisters /Abrasions
  • Swelling in feet

What Kind of Shoes Should I Wear While Pregnant?

The best shoes to wear while pregnant are going to be comfortable shoes that have enough room for your feet after they begin to swell, and can provide the support you need while carrying around a child.

Typically, the best shoes to wear during pregnancy are flats and sandals.

These two types of shoes are easy to put on, provide the room needed for swollen feet, and can be comfortable if you purchase the right pair.

But how do you know what the best pair are?

How to Select the Best Shoes for Pregnancy and Swollen Feet?

There are multiple determining factors when purchasing shoes for your swollen feet while pregnant.

Comfort is going to be key.

Your body is going to be uncomfortable and you are going to feel like you have lost control of every little thing; from emotions to bloating.

You will be able to take control on the comfort of your shoes and feet though!

When purchasing a pair of pregnancy shoes for swollen feet you need to look specifically at a couple of features on them.

Heels

As mentioned before, it is best to purchase a pair of shoes that do not feature a heel at all.

Heels are unstable and can increase your chances of tripping and falling.

But if you are going to wear a pair of heels stick to low and sturdy or chunky heels that will provide the stability you will need while caring your child.

Breathable

Breathable shoes will allow your feet to stay dry and cool preventing them to overheat or sweat too much.

When shoes are not breathable they are more likely to trap bacteria in them causing terrible odors to protrude.

Some breathable materials to look out for are either canvas or leather.

Roomy

Because your feet are going to swell while you are pregnant you are going to want a pair of comfortable shoes for pregnancy that have a lot of room to grow into.

The roomiest of shoes are ones that have a round toe cap (this is the front area of the shoe where your toes rest safely inside).

Depending on how much your feet swell during pregnancy you may have to purchase a pair of shoes that are high a size or even a full size larger than what you typically wear.

Supportive

Purchase shoes that have great arch support for the type of arch that you have.

Some people have flat feet and may need shoes that work best for their gate.

With support in a pair of shoes comes comfort because of the added padding all around.

The most supportive and comfortable shoes will have padded insoles and heel collars.

Easy to Put on

Late into your 9-month term your belly is going to grow so large that you will not be able to, nor want to bend over to try and tie a pair of shoes.

Believe it or not attempting to bend down to put on a shoe can be next to impossible when you are pregnant, so try and find good shoes for pregnancy that do not have laces and can easily slip on.

Stylish

This really should not be the determining factor of what shoes to purchase while pregnant, but when you are pregnant and not feeling like you are glowing as much as everyone keeps telling you, stylish shoes may be the only thing that helps get you through your day.

Just keep in mind, sometimes the cutest shoes are the most practical.

  • Do this for 5 to 10 minutes 2 times a day (at night before going to bed and in the morning when putting on your socks and hoes for the day)

Other Natural Ways for Plantar Fasciitis Relief

Apart from the methods we have already talked about, there are other alternative ways of treating plantar fasciitis.

1. Stretching Exercises

If you are suffering from any sort of foot problem, there are a couple of simple stretching exercises that are available.

You can include some fascia stretches, tennis ball rotations and foot rotations to relive pain and regain comfort.

These stretching methods are also great for those with heel pad syndrome, reactive arthritis and osteoarthritis.

2. Shoe Inserts

Putting on the perfect shoe when you are experiencing pain can be hard.

You can however increase your capability to withstand pressure and force on your feet by getting shoes that come with arch supportive inserts.

3. Resting Night Splint

This should be among the first things you do when you have muscle pain from plantar fasciitis.

You can take a few weeks to rest from your busy routine as you wear night splints that stretch the plantar fascia ligaments gently thus relaxing the ligaments at night.

4. Foot Roll

Any small long and cylindrical object can be used for a foot roll. Just step on the roller and while applying some pressure on the foot, stretch to stimulate sufficient blood flow.

5. Foot Massage

A descent foot massage will ensure that your archilles tendons and plantar fascia ligaments are well stretched to become flexible. This will also go a long way to keep the muscles relaxed.

6. Ice on Heel

To further reduce inflammation, you can use ice, you can also use contrast baths where you take both hot and cold water alternatively.

For some people, the heat can be damaging so it is safe to soak in cold water after a contrast bath.

You can also change to a heating pad if the ice refuses to work after 3 days.

Conclusion

Although researches are still working to establish the real connection of essential oils for plantar fasciitis, experts believe that there are a couple of essential oils that would work wonders to manage the condition.

If you want to get rid of that deliberating pain and reduce the inflammation and stiffness brought about by plantar fasciitis, try out one of these essential oils and you might be the next success story. The Best Shoes for Hallux Limitus and Hallux Rigidus

Hallux Limitus and Hallux Limitus are medical terms used to describe a dysfunctional big toe. If you have experienced this painful condition, or even had a big toe injury, you know how important footwear is when managing pain. Let's go over more about the condition and what types of shoes you should try to look for.

What is Hallux Rigidus and Limitus?

Hallux rigidus and limitus, both are the stages of a particular arthritis; we call “big toe arthritis”. Both of these disorders are technically not disorders, but are stages of the so-called big toe arthritis.

Hallux limitus is the first stage of this joint disorder where you cannot bend your toe, or the range of motion in your big toe is limited.

If this disorder is left untreated and you continue to bear the pain, it advances to a stage, which we call hallux rigidus. In this stage, the joint becomes incapable to move, and eventually freezes.

Both of these conditions result in a really painful situation that disables you from moving comfortably. These joint disorders are considerably caused by the wear out of the tissue at the joint surface, we call “cartilage”.

Symptoms of Hallux Limitus

If you’re suffering with hallux limitus, then here is what you’ll feel:
  • When you bend your big toe, you’ll feel pain and stiffness.
  • You’ll have swelling and inflammation on top of the joint.
  • The condition can be discomforting during damp and cold environments, even if you’re not moving at all.
  • You’ll have a “tight” feel in and around the big toe joint.

Symptoms of Hallux Rigidus

When your condition reaches to a critical stage, known as hallux rigidus, here is what you are likely to experience:
  • You’ll constantly have pain on your big toe joint, even if it's in rest (not moving).
  • You’ll feel a bump or a hardened joint, which becomes more pronounced, if it is left untreated.
  • It’s almost impossible to wear regular shoes, especially high heel ones.
  • Taking a walk, or putting pressure on the big toe joint becomes very painful, even some other parts of the body, knee and hips are susceptible to pain and discomfort.

Causes of Hallux Rigidus and Limitus

There are several causes that lead to this painful joint disorder, both behaviorally and non-behaviorally. Here are the most common causes:
  • Your joint cartilage can deteriorate if you wear high-heel shoes regularly, or if the shoes don’t fit you as they optimally should.
  • Excessive exercise, such as squatting, can also cause this joint disorder.
  • In some cases, stubbing the toe, or somehow injuring your toe, can also cause you to have hallux rigidus and limitus (depending on the severity of the injury).
  • If you are fond of running but haven’t figured out the right way of running, then this can also cause you to have this big toe arthritis.

Treatments and Benefits of Good Shoes

Mild Cases

If you are experiencing a mild case of pain from HR or HS, many medical professionals would advise to attempt to “retrain” your big toe. It is thought that this condition usually stems from wearing shoes that constrict your toes.

Therefore, to improve the situation, it is advised to use toe separators to help realign your toes. In addition, you can try wearing shoes with a wide toes box to allow your toes to spread out. Wide shoes with adequate daily toe stretching is a lot of the time enough to kick this condition.

Severe Cases

There are two main ways you can alleviate severe pain from this disorder, through surgery or by wearing rocker shoes, so-called “rocker-bottom shoes”.

These shoes have rocker-bottom soles, which means they won’t bend like the normal ones do – giving your big toe joint, the support it needs. The soles of these shoes are stiff, this puts a heavy pressure on other parts of your foot rather than your big toe joint.

This relaxes your big toe joint, which leaves you more comfortable, and allows your joint tissue (cartilage) to heal.

But in some cases, hallux rigidus and limitus can only be eliminated through surgery. You have to consult with a podiatrist to know if surgery is the way to go or not.

Choosing the Best Shoes for Hallux Rigidus and Limitus

Flexion

The right shoe depends on your condition. Choose the one that appeals most to you, and try to bend front of the shoe to see the flexion near the big toe. Some shoes have very high movement, and some have very low movement.

It is based to get a shoe based on the level your condition. The worst pain you have, it is probably better to get a stiffer show. The less your shoe bends the less pressure will be put on your toes.

Width

Another big factor is how wide the toe box (front end) of the shoe is. As stated before, it is a common believe that Hallux Rigidus and Limitus develop from wearing shoes that are too tight on your feet. When trying to relieve pain a wider toe box is usually better.

Heel Height

It’s simple, higher heels put more pressure on the front of your foot and your toes. If your are dealing with HR or HL it is most likely a good idea not to wear heels at all.

The Best Shoes for Lower Back Pain – Top 11 Choices

Most people experience some sort of back pain during their lives. If you have you understand how pain in your back can stop you from doing just about all exercise, especially running. Here we will discuss how footwear can help and give some recommendations.

Do you realize that back pain can be aggravated by the shoes that you are wearing? The best shoes for lower back pain will make a lot of difference with how you live your life.

Have you gone to the doctor for back pain? According to surveys, back pain is one of the most common reasons why people decide to go to the doctor.

Back pain may be caused by different reasons. Sometimes, the reason for experiencing back pain is obvious. Perhaps you woke up in a weird sleeping position or have a sports related injury.

The most common but not too obvious reason is your footwear. Did you know that the shoes you wear can make a huge difference with your lower back pain?

Effects of Footwear on Back Pain

You have probably heard that high heels can cause back pain but high heels are not the only type of shoe that causes back pain.

A lot of times, people wear shoes that they are not comfortable in for the sake of their style.

People have the tendency to prioritize looks and style over true comfort and function.

Never mind the fact that they are going to have painful blisters on their feet, in addition to aching calves and thighs. The fact is that bad shoes are causing lower backs to be strained.

Can you imagine letting your body go through these different types of pain just to look good?

Back pain can manifest more as time goes on. The older that people get, the more that they are going to feel the strain bought about by wearing uncomfortable footwear.

When you are young, will you actually make an effort to check out best shoes for lower back pain? Perhaps you would only consider this when your back is already truly painful.

Here are some of the types of footwear available and how they can affect your back:

Flats:

Are you surprised that flats can actually cause back pain? When you wear flats, you can expect that you will not be getting any support for your back. In fact, since you have the tendency to wear them longer, they may actually cause more pressure on your back than high heels can.

Since flats do not offer any support, you can expect that it will be putting pressure on your legs every time you take a step. Once your legs have taken enough beating, the pressure will also start to build up on your back. Without using the right footwear, the time will come when you may even develop plantar fasciitis.

Toning Shoes:

Perhaps you feel like you are already happy with how your legs and thighs look but you want to tone them. The perfect solution may be to purchase toning shoes, right? This is wrong. When you wear toning shoes, you can expect that your muscles will have the tendency to work more. This is because of the curved bottom of the shoes.

According to some studies, toning shoes do not actually work because they are just similar to athletic shoes. The main difference is that you can feel each step that you make because of how the shoes are shaped. There is a big chance that you will have the tendency to feel more pain not only on your lower back but your whole lower body after some time.

Heels:

Since this is the most well-known culprit, let us discuss how this can effect your back. When it comes to high heels, do not only assume that this is for stilettos and open toed shoes. It can also apply to boots with high heels. All shoes with high heels can cause lower back pain. Whenever you walk in heels, you walk in a certain posture to balance yourself and this can strain your back eventually.

Usually, the part of your body that gets effected the most by wearing high heels is your knees but eventually, you will cause some issues with your spine too. In order to improve your back’s condition, it is okay if you wear high heels when you cannot avoid wearing them but if you are going to wear them on a daily basis, you can already expect that your back will start to hurt.

Flip Flops:

Remember the time when everybody thought that it would be cool to wear flip flops everywhere? There was a time when people collected different colored flip flops and wore them everywhere. It is a good thing that over the past years, wearing of flip flops has lessened considerably. Now, they are more seen at the beach where they belong.

Yet, there is a reason why flip flops may be bad for your back. Just notice how you wear them. Isn’t it that every time you walk, you have to scrunch up your toes? This means that the pressure will be on your hips so that you can continue moving. Over time, this will have an effect on your lower back too.

The above mentioned types of shoes are not those only types of shoes that can cause back pain. As long as shoes are not well made and do not offer proper support to your lower body, you can expect to suffer from lower back pain from time to time. With these things in mind, you cannot help but wonder, what are the best shoes for lower back pain then?

Factors to Consider When Selecting Shoes for Lower Back Pain

One of the misconceptions you may have when you are choosing the best shoes for lower back pain is that you have to wear chunky shoes or immediately shop at the orthopedic section. This is not true at all. Your main goal is to find shoes that can blend seamlessly with the rest of your wardrobe without causing some back pains.

Here are just some of the factors that you should consider:

Arch:

Look at the arch of the shoes that you are considering to purchase. Does the arch work well with the natural arch of your foot? Arch can differ from person to person so it does not mean that just because a pair of shoes work well with one person, it already means that it will look amazing on you.

Fit:

This is another thing that you have to consider. One of the mistakes that people make is choosing shoes that are too small or too big for them. There are different factors why you have shoes that do not fit well:
  • You have acquired the pair from another person.
  • You bought shoes because they were on sale.
  • You like the style so much that you have purchased a pair even if it does not fit you well.

No matter what your reason is, purchasing shoes that do not fit well will have a negative effect on your whole body.

Seal of Acceptance:

Do you realize that there are some shoes that have been tested and have passed for being comfortable? If you want shoes that will not hurt your lower body at all. Look for this seal.

Rigidity:

Do you realize that there are some shoes that are more rigid than most? Rigid shoes do not really move that well. They may hurt the feet eventually because the feet will not be allowed to breathe. Shoes that are too flimsy will not do wonders for the feet as well.

Get Evaluated:

In order to find the right shoes for you, the best thing that you can do is to have your feet evaluated first. You have to know if the width of your feet is narrow, medium or wide. The wider your feet are, the harder it may be for you to find shoes that will fit well.

Once you consider these factors, it will be easier for you to eliminate some shoes that you may want to purchase. You also have an option to have your shoes custom made if you believe that this is the best option. You can ask your physician if he/she thinks that this will work well for you. On the up side, there are best shoes for lower back pain that you can already buy ready made.

Best Athletic Shoes for Lower Back Pain

There are different shoes that you can find in the market but the best shoes for back pain sufferers are limited. You truly need to consider each one and also think about where you will use the shoes to make proper choices.

The Best Shoes for Achilles Tendinitis – Top 7 Choices

Achilles tendinitis can be one of the worst injuries to deal with. If you have an injured or inflamed Achilles tendon it is a problem that could literally take you off of your feet. In order to treat and prevent Achilles tendinitis it is important to wear the right shoes. Below we will go into more detail and offer some foot ware advice!

Achilles tendinitis can hit at any time regardless if you are an athlete, a businessman, a housewife or just a normal everyday jogger. Achilles tendinitis can happen to you and make you feel that annoying pain on your heel that can be hard to cure.

However, in order to avoid it you can use the shoes for Achilles tendinitis that will not only help you alleviate the pain but also prevent it and hopefully help you cure it.

Using one of these shoes is recommended for people who have problems with their Achilles tendon, whether they are currently in pain or have suffered from it before.

As the Achilles tendon is the longest tendon in our bodies, it can get damaged easily. When it is damaged, it is normal to feel mild pain or a dull burning sensation that can make walking difficult. However, when the tendon gets ruptured or broken, the pain can be so intense to the point of making impossible to walk.

That’s why it is always recommended to use the best shoes for Achilles tendinitis.

How Wearing the Right Footwear Help Achilles Tendinitis

Even though there are tons of treatments, massages, pills and even therapeutic processes that can cure and help relieve it, the best shoes for Achilles tendinitis will always be the first step of treatment.

By wearing the right footwear you should be able to reduce the pain from Achilles tendinitis. Correct footwear can help avoid irritating the inflamed tissue caused by damage to the tendon.

Perhaps the best thing about proper shoes is that they will help you to prevent further damage and deterioration.

This is because the best shoes for Achilles tendon problems have the correct shoe arch, cushioning, firmness and heel height to prevent any further damage.

However, it is always important to choose the right shoes. Find shoes that fit well on your feet giving enough room to move properly. When you find a good shoe it should seem like it makes it easier for you to walk or to practice any other activity, like jogging or playing sports.

Good shoes help because thanks to the wonderful technology used in shoes, they relieve the pressure from your body weight especially on the heel and middle part of your foot.

This happens by increasing the cushioning and making the feet work better, avoiding bad movements and allowing more support.

What Types of Shoes to Avoid with Achilles Tendinitis

It is always recommended to avoid those shoes that don’t offer the proper support on the heel, as it is in the heel that most of the damage to the Achilles tendon happens.

In addition, it is also recommended to not use shoes with thin soles when doing demanding activities like running, jogging, or playing sports, as thin soles can inflict more pressure on the heels of the feet.

Any shoe that doesn’t offer the sufficient amount of support should be avoided if you have injuries or pain in your feet.

Especially if you are already suffering from Achilles tendinitis, using the wrong shoes can deteriorate the state of your Achilles tendon to the point of possible rupturing it, which would be the worst case scenario.

Make sure that the shoes you use to avoid or to treat Achilles tendinitis offer the necessary support. From a great cushioning in the heel, a great shoe arch to maintain the proper position to even enough space for toes and the mid part of the feet to move properly.

Avoid all those that are too tight, with little cushioning, a wrong shoe arch and with no support to your heel.

What to Look for When Choosing the Best Shoes for Achilles Tendonitis?

There are various features that the best shoes for Achilles tendon pain offer that will eventually help to avoid this pain and relieve it.

However, these will depend on the type of shoe and the specific activities they were designed for.

The features of the proper shoes for Achilles tendinitis are:

Proper Arch Support

Feet with high arches or feet with flat arches in the mid-part of the feet are one of the most common feet that suffer from Achilles tendinitis.

Due to the importance of the arch in the feet, if it is not properly supported, Achilles injuries can arise and eventually inflict pain on the tendon.

In order to avoid and eventually alleviate the pain from Achilles tendinitis, it is recommended to use shoes depending on the arch feet of the person to add more support.

Ball of Foot Bending

When looking for the best shoes to wear for Achilles tendinitis, it is always recommended to look for those who offer the right bending form.

If a shoe is not firm enough, it can create bad movements on the feet that can eventually end up in Achilles injuries.

So, in order to prevent this, it is recommended that the shoe you choose bends exactly beneath the ball of the foot and nowhere else.

Heel Cushioning

If you want your shoes to protect your heel better, there’s no better way than looking for those which offer more heel cushioning.

Take into account that the proper heel cushioning will make your heel feel less pressure from brusque movements, especially if you tend to practice sports or running.

Heel Height

The heel height of the best footwear for Achilles tendinitis should not be too low or too height.

The proper heel height of shoes for Achilles tendinitis should be slightly high, just enough to offer comfort and support for the heel plus liberty to the feet to move easily enough and at the same time avoid bad movements.

Ankle Collar

The ankle collar is really important if you want to avoid Achilles tendinitis. This part of the shoe will help the foot to move better but avoiding incorrect movements and ankle fractures that can come from incorrect stepping or high-pressure movements.

Insoles

The best insoles for Achilles tendinitis are the ones that offer a proper cushioning and height to the feet. They will adapt perfectly depending on the person who’s wearing them, offering enough support to the heel and the arch.
